Well, we got back from the folks - where, by the way, we had a very nice Thanksgiving, complete with Grandma in good spirits - and painted the back room. And painted it again.

We picked out a paint that looked right, until we got up this morning. It dried to bright, to much of a baby blue and that’s not what we were looking for. So, we ran back to Loewe’s this morning and went two shades darker. Two more coats of paint, and voila we have what we were looking for.

We also got the furniture painted. We hoping that the high-contrast effect we are going for turns out like we envision it. We shall see.

I had today off of work, so with the long weekend we’ve decided to redo the den. It’s the only room (not including the basement) that we haven’t done something to (other than a simple border). We’ve emptied the room and spent way too much time removing said border. The walls are cleaning up nicely; however, it has taken longer than anticpated so painting will have to wait until we get back from Grand Rapids.

Speaking of which, we are heading out tomorrow for T-Day dinner with my folks (and possibly Grandma). It should be fairly relaxing.

I have successfully reproduced the Hypno Toad, a drink we were introduced to on St. John. It’s a creation of the bartender in Mongoose Junction. He didn’t have a name for it, so we named it. All hail the Hypno Toad.

In addition to Jonathan Brandis, Gene Anthony Ray, (Leroy from “Fame”) and Kellie Waymire (”Friends,” “Six Feet Under,” and “Enterprise”) have also died recently. Odd how that happens.
