Firefox & The New York Times
Perhaps a silly and geeky little thing, but my name is in The New York Times. I share a two-page ad for Firefox with some 10,000 other contributors.
My name (as T James White) appears in the ad because I was one of several thousand enthusiasts to donate money to the Mozilla organization. While web browsers are typically free, I don’t mind supporting developers when they build really outstanding software. In the past I have downloaded and tried numerous free/shareware programs. Some I have kept and paid for, others that were so-so lingered until deletion. I personally have three installations of Firefox (2 at work, 1 at home), plus I have enticed others to give it a try (have you installed it yet mom?), so it seemed a small price to pay.
Take a gander at the ad. I’m somewhere under the “e” I believe – the names are alphabetical, so it’s not too hard to find.
