Sonogram, Part II
Since Lizard was sleepy last time around and didn’t want to roll over, we returned today at an attempt to finish imaging the baby (such an odd phrase) – this time with cookies. The nurse told Sarah to have some sugar before the appointment to help make sure the Wee Little One was awake. And boy was it. The little monster was almost too active at first.
Facing front and center, though wiggling around a bit, the nurse was able to get a good look at the heart and determine whatever she determines. (Which, in a nutshell, was that the heart if fully formed and functioning properly.)
We then got a great shot of the baby’s face as it yawned. Yes, yawned! Brilliant, I tell you.
The nurse then turned the reigns over to a student for some practice, so we sat there for the rest of the 1/2 hour as the new girl found her way around my wife’s womb. She was very nice and pointed out all sorts of goodies for us, like this: “OK, this dark spot here is the baby’s bladder. Oops, looks like it just emptied.”
Yes, my baby peed! Brilliant! Yawning and peeing already – this baby is a freakin’ genius I tell you. I’m no doctor, but I’m guessing it’s way up on the fetus IQ scale. It’s gotta be. I mean it yawned and peed and kicked about like it knew what it was doing. Sure sign of genius. Gotta be.
(Of course, Sarah was a little less enthused about the Wee Little One weeing a little in her.)
And, to cap it off, we finally got a good look at the little legs and toes. Yes, toes! At least five per foot! Freakin’ brilliant!

Would your child be anything but brilliant? I mean, come on, look at it’s parents, and you have to know…
