Month 6

The fifth month is now behind us and as we head into the sixth, the baby is certainly making it’s presence known.

Part way through last month it began to move around; subtle little movements that Sarah could feel. Once again, I felt left out of the ordeal. She’s growing and changing. She’s feeling the baby move. I’m just watching.

But last night that changed as I felt the baby’s little kicks for the first time. The movements aren’t fierce, but noticeable. They feel a bit like a hick-up or small muscle spasm is Sarah’s abdomen, just below her belly button. Now that I can feel them, I also feel like I can take part in this again.

Today has helped as well – we’ve begun painting the little bugger’s room.

Update (for Wendi): The baby’s room is Sweet Pea and Limon, which translates to a bright, happy green (leaning toward the yellow side of the scale) and a bright lemon-yellow. Two opposing walls are yellow, one solid green wall, on one green and yellow striped wall (to be completed in the morning). Pictures will be posted.

Our room turned out a minty green, which is not what we were going for. So tomorrow we pick a new shade and try again.

  1. Colors! Colors! You can’t just say ‘we painted’ without listing the colors. ;)
