Plague
At precisely 9:00 pm Monday a plaque settled upon our house. Miss Olivia and I both became congested and slept not well.
Tuesday came and she sounded better; I was stuffy but alive. I dropped her off at Daycare and began my journey toward work. I never made it. The plague hit me harder with every mile till I finally gave in and returned to Toad Manor.
Daycare called around noon to let me know Olivia too had the plague — a fever off 100°. Being home sick myself I asked if she could stay until her usual time, when Lady Sarah could pick her up. I passed out in delirium, not waiting for an answer.
Today, Lady Sarah stayed home to take care of little Olivia (and myself). I had every intention of going to work, but since I did not even awake until 7:00, that was that. With my portable computing machine I did manage to accomplish some tasks I had set out for the day.
As night falls I can feel the plague lifting, though some tendrils remain buried in my chest. Miss Olivia, with her stores of youth, is recovering far better.
Lady Sarah is blessed with an incredible constitution and has emerged unscathed from the whole episode.
