Qlivia

For Christmas Olivia received some really cool foam mats. We set up a whole play space in the basement, as well as a small pad for the living room. She’s been having a grand time with them lately.

Pink World

Having an 8-month-old daughter, there’s a lot of pink in my life. Pink pajamas, pink onesies, pink shoes, pink snow suits, pink eyes.

Yes, pink eye.

Last Saturday Olivia developed conjunctivitis (commonly referred to as pink eye) and today it has moved on to me. Luckily it is only in one eye and I’ve already started antibiotic drops. After just a couple of drops, Olivia’s eyes cleared right up, so I should be in good shape by tomorrow.

Bonus points to anyone who can identify the musical reference in the title.

Backup Solution

So, with all of the digital images we’re taking now, I figure it’s probably time to get serious about backing up the data on 7X’s hard drive. It’s got a 120 GB drive, and currently only about 20 GB needs to be backed up. Even with redundant (daily, weekly and monthly) copies it’s not a lot of storage. (more…)

So, reading Lolita for the first time as a 30-something man with a new daughter is, perhaps, not the best combination.

But it’s a damn fine novel.
