Still Alive and Working

After completing the big project at work (the bulk of the heavy CSS lifting at any rate), my work load is almost returning to normal.

The product is entering a QA cycle, so I’ve just got some twiddly bits to work on (font sizes, spacing, etc). Next up is building another 8 page templates. We had a quick look at them today, and they shouldn’t be too bad. In fact, I’ve already got some core styles in place from our brainstorming meetings from several months ago.

The big work-related news is that I still have a job. The same can not be said for half of my department — there was some serious slashing and our entire print advertising team has been let go.

Our Creative Service department consisted of print and interactive (my team). Our parent company has decided to farm print advertising (mailing pieces, catalogs and the like) for all of the companies to one ad agency. We have had a really nice little group going and they will be missed.
